Art Installation Unveiling

 In Community News

Works of art by two very talented watercolorists, Hearthstone resident Keith and his mentor Clifford, were unveiled to the resident community earlier this month.  A permanent installation in our dining room, the pieces, including those shown below, afford the perfect finishing touch in the newly-remodeled space.

As a young child, Keith’s mother taught him the fine arts of embroidery, needle point, knitting and cross stitch. His ability to hone those skills and his natural sense of hand-eye coordination made his transition to painter all but inevitable. A life-long painter, among may other skills, today Keith is a proud signature member of Seattle Co-Arts, The Northwest Watercolor Society and the Colored Pencil Society of America.

As a grade schooler and in the absence of any art classes in his school, Clifford jumped at the chance to attend Sunday afternoon art classes for .15 per session. His artistic path took a slight detour as the need to earn a steady income took brief precedent over his love of watercolor, which he resumed in earnest and with great success just a few short years later.

The event’s success was due to the hard work of some key players: Hally in the front office created and produced top notch event collateral on a tight timeframe, managed a number of calendars and orchestrated multiple simultaneous event details. Special thanks also go to Keith and his very good friend Therese for their management of the project from conception to production to installation.
